MEDIEVAL & VICTORIAN FAIRS - Troubadour, Minstrel, Hurdy Gurdy Man!
Damian welcomes opportunities to play at themed events such as Medieval and Victorian
re-enactment fairs. Medieval Banquets and Christmas Fairs are also suitable for his music.
He has a lot of experience at playing at many all-day events, both in the UK and in Germany where
these events are on a huge scale. Damian dresses in appropriate attire for the period. He can play at
a variety of static positions around the event site, attracting people to the delightful and evocative
sounds of his instruments.
Although he is happy to make use of a stage and play through a PA, he usually plays completely
acoustically and is just as happy under the shade of an oak tree. He also performs as a
strolling Minstrel, walking around the site playing on the Hurdy Gurdy, adding character and
taking the public back to times of yore
Damian has an exciting CV of events that he has played at recently. Examples are:
England’s Medieval Festival, Herstmonceux Castle
Events celebrating the re-internment of Richard III, Leicester
The Ancient Oak Medieval Fair, Stoke Cum Quay
Anno Events, Bielefeld, Germany
Schloss Stunkede, Dortmund, Germany
1000 year Celebrations, Bishop Stortford
Sutton Poyntz Victorian Fair
St George’s Day, Salisbury
plus many other similar events, large and small.
